South Middle River Civic Association was created and registered as a not-for-profit corporation with the State of Florida in August, 1987. The Association applied for and received 501 (c) (3) charitable status from the IRS in 2004, a status which allows contributors who itemize to make deductions for their contributions. We have continued to be a non-profit corporation in good standing with the State of Florida, with no lapses, since our inception more than a quarter-of-a-century ago.
